Supported Community Connection Community Outreach

Community outreach and connection are vital components of our approach to planning and developing job opportunities for each participant. We actively engage with community members and business owners to raise awareness of the services we offer and to collaborate on reducing barriers to employment.

Our partnership with local leaders in business development enables us to educate employers about the benefits of inclusive hiring practices and the value of creating supportive work environments. By fostering mutual understanding and cooperation between employers and employees, we aim to enhance the overall workplace experience for everyone involved.

One of our key initiatives is Supported Community Connections (SCC) services. These services are designed to empower participants by providing them with the skills and resources necessary to engage in typical community activities and functions. Whether it's community education or training, retirement, or volunteer activities, SCC offers a range of opportunities to facilitate meaningful relationships and natural supports within the community.

Supported Community Connections activities take place in various community settings, where participants interact with non-disabled individuals. These activities may include socialization, adaptive skills development, and personnel support to accompany and assist participants in community settings. Additionally, resources and supplies related to skill acquisition, retention, or improvement are provided as needed.

SCC services can be delivered in group settings, where participants travel together into the community, or on a one-to-one basis to provide personalized instruction and support tailored to individual Service Plans. By leveraging the community as a learning environment, we empower participants to develop essential life skills, build relationships, and actively participate in community life.
